VCN WELCOMES UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND SUMMER INTERNS

The University of Richmond School of Law Summer Public Service Fellowship Program provides summer funding to students working in qualifying government, nonprofit, and private sector employment settings.

The Fellowship Program makes it financially possible for students to gain valuable, but unpaid, law-related summer employment experience, ensures students are prepared to maximize their summer experience for long-term professional gain, and provides opportunities for students to reflect on their summer experience and apply the insights they gain over the summer to their academic and career goals.

Alaina Roberts, J.D. Candidate 2022

Alaina is a rising second year law student at the University of Richmond with a B.A. in psychology from George Mason University. As the daughter of a small business owner, Alaina has learned the importance of building strong relationships within the community and she strives to carry her father’s lessons into her own life. Born and raised in Williamsburg, Alaina grew up exploring Virginia’s beautiful Historic Triangle. When she isn’t in the library glued to a casebook or a Stephen King novel, she can be found outside playing with her two dogs or helping her mother in the garden.

Alaina will be helping the VCN team work towards coastal and flood resiliency with a focus on coastal Virginia.
