HENRICO, Va. – Network Partners of VCN had the opportunity to meet with U.S. Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07) for a conservation roundtable at the Tuckahoe branch of the Henrico County Public Library. Topics of discussion included the Land and Water Conservation Fund, Clean Water budget items, HR 9, offshore drilling, and addressing the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.

“I can’t think of a better way to spend Earth Day,” said Congresswoman Spanberger.

“In order to get traction on HR 9 we’re going to need as much bipartisan support as possible. States like Virginia can point to the economic value of protecting our natural resources. This is about the U.S. setting the example for the rest of the world.

“I think a lot of times people think about the environmentalism community as protestors standing on the side of the road. But they’re not, they’re the family farm that needs to be able to grow crops and needs healthy soil to do that.”
