Our Partners at Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) have released a new report, Driving Down Pollution: Accelerating Cleaner Cars in Virginia, that highlights the many benefits from bringing cleaner cars to Virginia more quickly and – with some modeling from experts – shows that the transition to EVs won’t overwhelm the grid and that gains are being made in the deployment of charging infrastructure. With the Clean Cars standards taking effect this year and EV sales beginning to take off, the report also emphasizes now is the time to enact measures related to charging and electric rates (including some items currently before the Assembly) to make this transition as smooth, efficient, and equitable as possible.
