VIRGINIA’S POWERFUL, DIVERSE, HIGHLY-COORDINATED
CONSERVATION MOVEMENT

REGISTER: GENERAL ASSEMBLY RECAP

CONSERVATION NEWS

Bill of the Day: Clean Car Standards

During this session of the General Assembly, Virginia has its best opportunity in years to advance transportation electrification through Clean Car Standards (HB1965) which will expand consumer car choice, keep automobile jobs in Virginia, reduce air pollution from transportation emissions, and improve human health.

Bill of the Day: Electric Utility Rate Reform

Electric utility rate reform legislation will protect consumers and restore oversight authority to regulators. Without, Virginians will lose out on refunds for the $500 million in overcharges by Dominion Energy since 2017 and regulators may not be able to lower over-charged electric bills.

What We’re Focusing On

CLEAN WATER & FLOOD RESILIENCE

Restoring health and water quality to our creeks, rivers, and the Bay by reducing pollution from agriculture, wastewater, and stormwater, and ending plastic waste.

LAND & WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

Protecting Virginia’s natural resources to support clean water and air, wildlife populations, viewsheds, food security, culture, history, and improved physical and mental health.

LAND USE & TRANSPORTATION

Leveraging smarter land use, expanding alternatives to driving, and electrifying transportation to reduce carbon emissions and lower vehicle miles traveled.

CLIMATE & ENERGY

Responsibly developing clean energy infrastructure, ramping up energy efficiency and solar investments, and ensuring an equitable transition to a clean energy economy.
