Concerned that plastic in our waters could mean problems for the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed, the Chesapeake Bay Program Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) reviewed studies and gathered experts for a 2019 workshop on microplastics. The workshop participants concluded that microplastics pose a potentially serious risk to the successful restoration of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
