Advocate for Environmental Action at VCN’s 2023 Conservation Lobby Day!
VCN’s Conservation Lobby Day pairs hundreds of passionate constituents with their local legislators to discuss important environmental issues and policy solutions.
We need your voice more than ever this year.
There is a lot at stake.
- Our Climate Progress: last year the General Assembly tried to repeal our three major climate action policies – the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, the Virginia Clean Economy Act, and the Clean Car Standards. Last year we successfully blocked efforts to repeal these critical policies to fight climate change but we know they’ll be back at in 2023.
- Our Clean Water & Land Conservation Momentum: Last year we saw historic investments in clean water and land conservation programs. This bi-partisan effort is the result of numerous groups working together. It’s critical we maintain that momentum as we approach the 2025 goal line for the Chesapeake Bay Cleanup and ever-increasing development on our farms and forests.
- And so much more: Flood resilience, wildlife corridors, environmental justice, energy democracy, distributed solar, and so many other critical priorities will be debated this session. We need your voice!
VCN will work to make it easy for you to lobby for the critical environmental action that matters most to you. Leading up to Conservation Lobby Day, VCN will share resources on how to advocate, provide talking points for environmental policy solutions, and schedule meetings with your legislators.
Join us in the Capital of Virginia as we kick off this year’s annual Conservation Lobby Day at the Capitol Belltower on Tuesday, Jan. 31st, from 8-9 AM. Attend lobby meetings with your legislators and fellow advocates throughout the morning. Then, we will wrap up at St. Paul’s to recap a day well spent and plan our next steps.
In addition to the program, registration includes coffee, light breakfast, and lunch at the event.
There is a lot we need to defend and take action for.
