Workgroups
VCN workgroups provide forums for experts and advocates to discuss conservation issues. These workgroups meet throughout the year to determine ways the environmental community can work together to protect Virginia's environment.
Issue Based Workgroups:
The network’s five workgroups evaluate proposed legislation and identify policy solutions for the Commonwealth. Each of the following workgroups, comprised of staff and volunteers from VCN members, meet regularly via conference call. The workgroups focus on the following five areas:
Through an open, deliberative process, these workgroups draft white papers, which are reviewed by VCN’s legislative committee and board, then compiled in the annual Conservation Briefing Book. These white papers serve to inform positions taken by VCN
on legislation during each General Assembly Session.
